History

The Knoxville Disc Golf Association (KDGA) has averaged around 80 members the last 4 years. This year over 100 members joined the KDGA as of May 2013. In January or February we run a fundraiser for Second Harvest Food Bank and Knox County Animal Shelter. This is our annual Ice Bowl. Last year we raised $1000-$1500, a pickup truck load of food, food for the Animal Shelter and 4–6 bags of towels and blankets. During the months of March through October we run weekly events on every Sunday at our local parks. KDGA promotes Disc Golf for all ages. We have divisions for every ability of disc golfer. Divisions include Novice (children) through Open including women's divisions. The Club also hosts a PDGA tournament annually called the “Volunteer Classic”. The first weekend in May is The World’s Biggest Disc Golf Weekend. This event is a worldwide promotion for disc golf. The club participates in the event each year. Throughout the year, we run or participate in many charity fundraisers thru the East Tennessee region. Areas include Knoxville, Oak Ridge, Chattanooga, Morristown, Gatlinburg, and Kingsport.
